To keep the celebrations going, we’re thrilled to congratulate both Frances Gertler and Abz Salloum who graduated on from our Level 5 Programme last month, obtaining accreditation with the EMCC! We are so excited to see where both Frances and Abz, take their coaching journey! 🎉👏
To keep the celebrations going, we would like to talk about our incredible Coach of the Month— Anastasia Oles ! 🎉
Anastasia has been excellent this month at Coaching Minds, active daily in our hub, engaging and supporting other coaches in our sessions, and making progress towards establishing her coaching practice. She was nominated by a number of our coaches for the award this month following all of her wonderful contributions.
Anastasia - Congratulations and thank you for being part of our mission. 👏✨
📚 Book Club: New Updates and Proposal
We had another wonderful Book Club Coffee & Chat, led by our coach, Frances Gertler this month with a great turnout. We discussed a number of books and topics and voted to make some slight changes to how we run our book club. This is what was decided:
☕ Our Book Club Coffee Chats have moved - Now on the final Thursday of each month at 5pm UK.
☕ Our format will remain open to bring your own book - However, you can group together with people to have a deeper discussion if you wish in a breakout room each month.
Our book lists continue to grow, and we are excited for next month! 📖☕
We love seeing the variety of books and ideas that emerge—so why not bring your latest read and join the discussion? ☕📖😊
🌟 5 Years at Coaching Minds
This month we celebrated 5 years at Coaching Minds. We held an informal chat live across social media, for those that missed it, you can access the replay HERE. Our Managing Director, Paul Smith also wrote the following article on LinkedIn:
When I left my career within the UK water sector in 2019, I never imagined my life as it is today. I had spent two years gaining reputable qualifications in coaching and building up a side practice before taking the leap to pursue my own business. Anglian Water treated me well, paid me well, and helped me develop many skills within the 5 years of my service. However, managing contracts on pipe networks, calculating maximum daily demand, and learning MOSL codes left me feeling unfulfilled. No salary, position, or personal achievement can come close to how good it feels to truly help someone transform their life. So I entered the world of coaching full-time.
After a spiral of events including COVID, working within an unethical coaching school, and personal circumstances, I set a mission to make coaching affordable and accessible across the globe. In June 2020 the seed of Coaching Minds was planted, and last month we celebrated 5 years of making a difference. The truth: I have never felt so fulfilled in my life.
🏆 Our Biggest Achievements over 5 Years
The journey with Coaching Minds has been a roller coaster, and on numerous occasions we came close to giving up. However, despite our challenges, the setbacks, and the struggles, we pushed forward, bounced back, and thrived. We don't always get things right the first time, but we always do everything in our power to improve, actively seeking feedback from all of our coaches.
Here are some of our biggest achievements:
Awarded multiple accreditations with the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC) and the CPD Group UK. We gained EQAs at Practitioner Level 5 and Senior Practitioner Level 7.
We have been nominated for multiple awards, winning three over the past two years.
We have designed a business model that demonstrates high-standard coach training does not need to be expensive. Breaking down financial barriers to enter our industry.
Designed an interactive and modern online hub that is user-friendly with built-in gamification, AI, and cultural software.
We opened a Pro-Bono Coach Centre, that allows those that need coaching (and maybe can't afford it) to access coaching with one of our trainee coaches.
Zero complaints. Every coach that has joined us is satisfied with the standard of training at our academy, and we receive consistent praise for the service we provide.
We have held 4 successful Global Summits (the 5th launching in September).
Took a lead on ethics by integrating it as a fundamental part of our coach training and publishing our 'Coaching Ethics' book, which is unique to our industry.
This is just a small caption that reflects the hard work and success of our team, our coaches, and our community. I am so grateful to each and every member that has played a part in shaping Coaching Minds and helping us deliver our mission.
🎓 Learn From Our Mistakes
It is easy for us to talk about our wins; very rarely do businesses open up about their struggles. As a company that advocates for collaboration, I would like to highlight some lessons that we learned so you can avoid making the same mistakes.
Never give others your eyes. Don't let anyone else define, shape, or lead your vision. Seek support but limit it to the how, not the what and why.
Your vision needs to be bigger than yourself. If it isn't, you will have a hard time battling with your ego.
Be careful who you bring on board. One bad apple can spoil the whole barrel. Challenge, test, and research everyone you plan to bring on your journey. From the great book 'The Energy Bus', get the right people in the right seats.
Don't fall into Digital Marketing traps and false promises. Invest your marketing budget wisely. Focus more on ROI than on increasing your social media metrics.
Not every 'opportunity' that comes your way is an opportunity. Don't catch 'shiny object syndrome'. 'Opportunities' will only pull your focus. Stay focused on the vision and what really matters.
Learn to manage the critics. Some pose valuable feedback in an unconstructive manner, take a lesson from it. Some try to pull you down, ignore them. Your personal belief needs to be bigger than everyone else's doubt.
Not everyone that follows you, supports you. You have people close to you hoping that you will fail and you have strangers you've never met praying for you to succeed. Be careful who you trust.
In the words of Denzel Washington 'Don't confuse movement with progress.' We can run on the same spot for hours and achieve nothing in distance. Make sure the action you take, is moving your mission forward.
We have learned a lot on this journey and each mistake has shaped us into a better version. Here is to more mistakes and successes in the future as we gear up for the next 5 years at Coaching Minds.
A huge thank you to everyone who truly supports us. 🥂
